National Chairman's Letter
June 2000
Dear Members and Friends of the Independent American Party,
We have moved our July National Conference to a week earlier than previously
announced. This was done in hopes that our Presidential nominee, Howard
Phillips, would be able to attend during his mid-Summer Western states campaign
swing. However, as it turns out, he will not be able to participate except to
attend a breakfast-News Conference in Salt Lake City twelve hours before our
event officially begins.
The IAP National Conference will be on Friday evening and Saturday day, July
7-8, 2000 in Salt Lake City. Our featured speakers are Dan Hansen and Sarah
Ward. Dan, of Sparks, Nevada, is Western States Chairman of the Constitution
Party and has been a popular speaker at IAP events. Sarah, of Knightstown,
Indiana, is President of the National Woman's Christian Temperance Union. Everyone is invited
to all events, which are free of charge except for the optional meals.
Our Executive Committee Social will be Friday evening, July 7, at 7:00 PM at
Home Town Buffet Restaurant, 5682 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. This
is an informal dinner get-together, a chance to mingle with candidates, officers
and party members. The cost is $8.60 per person plus gratuity.
Saturday morning, July 8, at 10:00 AM will be a combined National Committee
and National Convention business meeting. At 11:00 AM will be a seminar on
Effective Community Development by Daniel Newby of Murray, Utah. At noon we will
have a Hoagie luncheon and will hear from our Utah IAP candidates for US Senate,
Governor, Lt. Governor and US House. The cost of the meal is $5.00 per person.
(The meal is optional.)
Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM will be our Guest Speakers forum. We will hear
from special guests Dan Hansen and Sarah Ward. We will also hear surrogate
speakers in behalf of our Presidential nominee Howard Phillips and our Vice
Presidential nominee Curtis Frazier. All Saturday events will be at the Salt
Lake County Commission Chambers, 2001 South State Street, North Building, Salt
Lake City, Utah.
Our www.usiap.org web site has been mostly static the past six months due to
lack of a webmaster. That problem has now been rectified. We plan to publish one
or two new Viewpoint articles or other items most every week again. We invite
you members and friends of the IAP to submit letters or articles for
consideration for the web site. Even while our site was static, we got thousands
of hits by viewers interested in our 100-plus Viewpoint articles and other
features.
Yours for Freedom!
Bruce Bangerter
