National Chairman's Letter
December 2000
Dear Members and Friends of the Independent American Party,
Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! to all of you from the National
Officers, Executive Committee and National Committee of the Independent American
Party. We in America have much to be thankful for. Let us be eternally grateful
to Him for his love and blessings upon us and our nation. And For those of you
who made an effort toward preserving righteousness, strong families, and freedom
in America, we express our gratitude to you also. May God be with you!
Reflecting on the Year 2000: We were fortunate and blessed to have Howard
Phillips (Virginia) of the Constitution Party and Earl Dodge (Colorado) of the
Prohibition Party both seek our IAP presidential nomination, run in our Utah IAP
presidential primary, and serve on our National Advisory Board. Howard was
eventually selected as our IAP Presidential nominee and Curtis Frazier
(Missouri) as our Vice Presidential nominee. We are grateful to Howard, Curtis
and Earl for their candidacies and their efforts for freedom . We are grateful
to our IAP candidates who ran for federal, state and local offices. And we are
grateful to the supporters who gave their time and efforts to help all our
candidates in their respective races.
Looking ahead to the future: We are already preparing for the General
Election in 2002. We are concerning ourselves with party organization and ballot
qualification in various states. We are now seeking to fill candidate slates for
the next General Election. If you support the Mission and Principles of the
Independent American Party and the Constitution for the United States, and have
any inclination for running for office, we ask that you give it serious
consideration now and start preparing for a race in your state or community. The
IAP wants to help its candidates prepare for their campaigns.
Howard Phillips has asked that we continue our alliance with the Constitution
Party. We are pleased and appreciative of his request and consider it a positive
thing. With our thoughts even on the next Presidential Election in 2004, we are
interested in prospective presidential candidates that the Constitution Party
and other like-minded parties may have to offer.
In the last election, all third party candidates were seriously hampered by
lack of media exposure. With advent of the Internet, we expect to get around the
media by promoting our party and our candidates on our national and other web
sites. Our www.usiap.org web site was getting over 600 hits per day near
the time of the election. We expect that to increase dramatically as we make
improvements to the site and it increases in public awareness. In the last six
months, we added about 80 Candidate and/or Viewpoint articles to the site, and
will continue adding articles as we update the site weekly.
Yours for Freedom!
