National Chairman's Letter
Platform - U.S.
Sovereignty
August 2004
Dear Independent American friends,
Using excerpts from one of my previous Chairman's Letter, I wish to comment
on the U.S. Sovereignty section of our IAP National Platform. The twelfth belief
point of the Introduction section of our Platform states:
12. [U.S. Sovereignty] We believe that a
sovereign America is necessary for us to maintain our freedom and way of
life; that we must withdraw from all international agreements that diminish
our independence; and that we must resist all efforts to draw us into a
global government.
George Washington, in his Farewell Address, cautioned us: "The great
rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our
commercial relations to have with them as little political connection as
possible. It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances, with any
portion of the foreign world."
But today our God-given national sovereignty is in jeopardy! Insidious
efforts have long been underway to bring the United States into the New World
Order. The NWO agenda includes the destruction of US sovereignty and the US
Constitution, the destruction of the sovereignty and constitutions of all other
nations, and the establishment of a world government.
The U.S. Sovereignty, or twelfth and last numbered section of our
Platform, includes the subtopics Sovereign America, International Relations and
Global Government, and begins:
12. U.S. SOVEREIGNTY
Sovereign America. We maintain that true
sovereignty lies in the people themselves, as the ultimate source and grantor
of government authority. We recognize the states and the people, not Congress,
as the true sovereigns over the federal government (an agent of the states),
holding all powers, rights, and authorities not granted to the federal
government by the Constitution.
We recognize the Constitution for the United States as the supreme and only
law over our land. We assert that the United States is, and will remain, a
free and independent nation subject to no international laws or treaties
inconsistent with the U.S. Constitution.
We favor U.S. withdrawal from any treaty or organization, etc., that
infringes upon or threatens the sovereignty and independence of the United
States. We favor the ratification of the Bricker Amendment, which would
reassert and protect the primacy of the U.S. Constitution.
Our enemies have launched a multi-pronged attack against our national
sovereignty:
• In education -- patriotism and love of country are discouraged in public
schools so that our children's first loyalty will be to the United Nations
rather than to the United States.
• In jurisprudence -- the International Criminal Court threatens to usurp our
Constitutional rights to trial by jury, a speedy trial, accountable judges,
appeals and habeas corpus.
• In voting -- the Bush administration is now talking about having our
elections monitored by foreign powers.
International Relations. We oppose the concept
of Most Favored Nation status, especially when used to obtain favor with
regimes whose goals conflict with the vital interests of the United States
of America. We oppose any and all efforts by the federal government to
regulate and govern other countries and provinces of the world, or efforts
to dethrone their leaders.
We oppose all international trade agreements which diminish America's
economic self-sufficiency, sovereignty or independence, or exports our jobs.
We support the withdrawal of funding and support of the United States from
the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the General Agreement on
Tariffs and Trade (GATT), the World Trade Organization (WTO), the
International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the repeal of Fast Track authority
given to the President.
• In trade -- WTO, NAFTA and GATT treaties have diminished our economic
self-sufficiency and independence, and our right to establish our own foreign
commerce policy. And now there are the FTAA and CAFTA treaties under
consideration.
• In the environment -- United Nations biosphere reserves have been established
in the United States and placed under UN control.
Global Government. We reaffirm to the world our
declaration of permanent independence and sovereignty as a free nation, and
our unalterable opposition to the current movement toward a one world
government or New World Order. We assert that the casualties of implementing
the New World Order will be the loss of our national sovereignty and
independence, the permanent surrender of our God-given rights and freedoms,
the end of personal sovereignty and agency, and a life of slavery and
oppression under tyrants and despots.
We favor the immediate withdrawal of the U.S. from the U.N., and the
immediate removal of all U.N. influence from the U.S. We oppose
participation in a global army, global taxation, international criminal
courts, and all forms of tyranny, foreign or domestic.
• In the military -- our servicemen have been assigned to UN commands, made to
wear UN uniforms and insignia, and committed to UN military actions.
• In readiness -- we have reduced our military capability under the name of
"disarmament" to the extent that we can no longer fight a two-theater
war nor resist a tyrannical United Nations.
• In national security -- foreign military bases have been established on
American soil; and after 9/11, AWACS warplanes with foreign UN pilots were
invited to patrol US skies.
Though we face an imminent New World Order on one hand and American
indifference on the other, we pledge as a political party to fight for the
restoration and preservation of our American national sovereignty for ourselves,
our posterity and our fellow Americans, by petition to God, and by political and
educational means!
For God, Family and Country!
