Changes made to the

Independent American Party
National Platform

The following revisions were made to the National Platform of the Independent American Party by the National Committee, acting as the National Convention, during the National Committee business meeting held January 18, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Introduction Section. INTRODUCTION - Point 1.

[Christian Heritage] We believe that Jesus Christ is the God of our this land; that we are fundamentally a Christian nation; and that only by faith in and obedience to God shall we be preserved as a great nation.

Introduction Section. INTRODUCTION - Point 2.

[Family] We believe that families are the fundamental building blocks of a moral society; that traditional family values are the strength of our nation; and that Christian morality is principles are the key to strong homes in America.

Introduction Section. INTRODUCTION - Point 6.

[Economy] We believe that "free enterprise" is the best economic system for America; that taxation should be limited to those methods provided for in the original Constitution; and that our nation must return to a debt-free money monetary system in accordance with the Constitution.

Introduction Section. INTRODUCTION - Point 12.

[U.S. Sovereignty] We believe that a sovereign America is necessary for us to maintain our freedom and way of life; that we must withdraw from all international agreements that diminish our independence; and that we must resist all efforts to draw us into the new world order New World Order.

Preamble Section. PREAMBLE.  [All new]

We affirm that the foundations of our country were spiritual: We testify that the Constitution for the United States of America was established as an inspired ensign and standard of liberty for all. It is the only constitution based foremost upon the rights and liberties of a free and independent people who are superior to government, having government as their servant rather than as their master. We revere the founding documents of America, honor the men who framed them, and ascribe all honor and glory to the God who inspired them. We claim, second to worshiping God, that our greatest responsibility as Americans is vigilance in protecting our God-given Constitution and rights, both for ourselves, our posterity.

We assert that we are in a Constitutional crisis. The major provisions of the Constitution are being compromised and our God-given rights are being intruded upon or eliminated at an alarming rate. Our educational, economic, social, and political institutions are becoming more perverted. The rights and nature of our national sovereignty, Judeo-Christian heritage, and traditional family, are under escalating attack. We solemnly declare that our Constitution, liberties, and national sovereignty currently hang by a thread. We assert that institutionalized corruption and the loss of our rights and liberties are unconstitutional, unacceptable and inexcusable.

We claim that our Constitutional Republic can still be fully restored by lawful means, but only to the extent that We The People stand united and vigilant, as never before, in the cause of freedom. "The people [not government]... are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty." – Thomas Jefferson

Purpose of the Independent American Party

* To uphold and revere our Constitution in the tradition of our founding fathers as the only and supreme law of this land.

* To restore our Constitutional Republic, restore Constitutional Law, and restore all rights, liberties, and properties rightfully belonging to the people and to the states.

* To identify and reverse legislation, case law, regulations, and treaties, etc., that are unconstitutional or an offense to God and our founding fathers.

* To permanently restore American sovereignty and independence from foreign entanglements, and mandates.

* To return the control of government back to the people as intended.

* To greatly minimize taxes, and to limit the size, power, and function of government to the intended constraints established within the original Constitution and Bill of Rights.

* To advance the principles of freedom, patriotism, and traditional family values.

* To preserve and honor our Judeo-Christian heritage, and the rights of all religions.

* To identify and defeat all efforts to undermine and overthrow the Constitution, by those in government and by those operating behind the scenes.

* To promote at all levels in government, superior ethics, integrity and accountability.

* To restore fair and responsible redress of grievances, as allowed for in the Constitution.

* To unite the independent votes, the silent majority, grassroots organizations, and other patriots and lovers of liberty under one umbrella; and, while keeping our separate identities, to stand united in reflecting the sovereignty of the people.

Section 2. FAMILY - Traditional Family - Paragraph 3.

We oppose the intrusion into the family by any government agency unless absolutely necessary to protect children or adults from truly abusive situations. Even in these situations, the due process of law must be accorded all parties involved. We maintain that there should be no presumption of guilt based on "anonymous" tips, and that those accused must have their Constitutional right honored to face their accusers in a court of law. The regulation of child care is not a legitimate function of government, but is an unconstitutional intrusion into the private affairs of American families.

Section 2. FAMILY - Morality - Paragraph 1.

We favor voluntary promotion of moral values in the entertainment media, including the internet Internet, television, radio, music, motion pictures, reading material, etc. and the arts. We favor the promotion, by schools, the media and clergy, of abstinence from non-marital sex.

Section 2. FAMILY - Morality - Paragraph 4.

We support legislation that protects the family from mounting influences which weaken the family unit. While respecting individual rights and agency, we oppose legitimizing immorality. Neither Congress nor the federal courts should infringe upon the rights of state and local governments to enact constitutional laws restricting public obscenity, pornography, and illicit sex acts, especially prostitution and homosexuality. We oppose the use of tax dollars to finance immoral art, literature, speech or actions. We support the elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts.

[Note: the two sentences deleted above have been modified and moved to Section 6 - ECONOMY - Taxation - Paragraph 1]

Section 3. CITIZENSHIP - Patriotism - Paragraph 1.

We consider patriotism as a manifestation of how we express our love for this great country, and each other; its ideals and potentials in protecting and preserving our Constitution, freedom, and all other fundamental rights and heritage for our family and posterity.

Section 3. CITIZENSHIP - Civic Duty - Paragraph 4.

We favor informed and responsible voting. We also hold that continuing to vote the way we have will only status quo will perpetuate the same corruption, advance the overthrow of our Constitution, and guarantee the surrender of all rights, liberties and national independence to the tyranny, and despotism of the U.N. and the controls of economic globalists in the any new world order.

Section 4. UNALIENABLE RIGHTS - Liberty - Paragraph 3.

We oppose legislation that allows the federal government to suspend our Constitutional God-given Rights or that prevents the people from suing government agents for violating citizens' civil or fundamental rights during times of war, national disasters, national emergencies, or declarations of martial law, etc. We favor the repeal of the 1933 War Powers and Emergencies Act.

Section 4. UNALIENABLE RIGHTS - Property - Paragraph 3.

We maintain that government must be strictly limited in its powers to intrude upon the private property of individual citizens, and that there be no search or seizure of persons, places or things without probable cause of criminal activity, nor without due process of law.

Section 5. EDUCATION - Values - Paragraph 2.

We believe that our educational institutions must be founded upon faith in God and upon moral law, and a respect for all religions without advancing or suppressing any. We favor urge the elimination from our schools of Secular Humanism, which undermines faith in God, religious loyalties and family values, and attempts to eradicate all concepts of right and wrong by claiming there is no God to account to. We favor teaching abstinence from all sexual activity outside the bonds of marriage.

Section 5. EDUCATION - Stewardship - Paragraph 3.

We assert that there are no provisions for state, federal or international involvement in schooling or education found in the Constitution. We favor abolishment of all federal and U.N. education programs that have a mandatory effect in the United States, and any organizations which usurp parental or local control, and favor the repeal of all legislation for such. We therefore call for the abolishment of the U.S. Department of Education.

Section 5. EDUCATION - Nongovernment Schools - Paragraph 1.

We maintain that returning the control and the financing of education to the localities and families, and opening the system to choice and competition, are the only viable options to guarantee the freedom and upward mobility of our students. We encourage participation in home schools, private or religious schools, charter schools, and public-private partnership schools.

Section 6. ECONOMY - Free Enterprise - Paragraph 1.

We favor terminating government competition with free enterprise, including government ownership, subsidy, bailout, and direct control of businesses. We support divesting the government of its commercial enterprises, and selling them to competitive, American owned private businesses. We oppose governmental wage and price controls, set by government, because they interfere with free enterprise and market-driven competition. We oppose agricultural and business subsidy programs.

Section 6. ECONOMY - Taxation - Paragraph 1.

We maintain that there is an urgent need for substantial tax reforms that would eliminate income, property and estate taxes, and taxes on necessities to lighten tax payer burdens and curb wasteful government spending. For example, we oppose the use of tax dollars to finance art, literature, speech or actions. We support the elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Section 6. ECONOMY - Taxation - Paragraph 2.

We maintain that the Internal Revenue Service has used its powers arbitrarily, punitively and tyrannically to harass and sometimes devastate honest tax payers. We favor the elimination of the IRS and favor the repeal of the 16th Amendment., restoring the original Constitutional intent of taxation.

Section 6. ECONOMY - Money and Banking - Paragraph 4.

We favor investigation into and prosecution of all American banks, corporations, and their owners, etc., who participate in unconstitutional and treasonous activities via a global economic system.

Section 11. DEFENSE - National Security - Paragraph 1.

We are opposed to the current anti-terrorist legislation, the Office of Homeland Security, and the USA Patriot Act, because of the loss of personal freedoms and civil rights, the confiscation of personal firearms, the use of military forces in local and state matters, federal usurpation of state authority and control over the National Guard, the creation of a nationalized police state, and requiring citizens to become spies on each other. We are opposed to destroying Constitutional checks and balances, destroying our Bill of Rights, or granting unconstitutional authority to the executive branch, under the guise and pretense of offering greater national security.

Section 12. U.S. SOVEREIGNTY - Sovereign America - Paragraph 2.

We recognize the Constitution for the United States as the supreme and only law over our land. We assert that the United States is, and will remain, a free and independent nation subject to no international laws inconsistent with the U.S. Constitution. The United States is not bound by any unconstitutional treaty.

Section 12. U.S. SOVEREIGNTY - International Relations - Paragraph 1.

We oppose the concept of Most Favored Nation status, especially when used to obtain favor with regimes whose goals conflict with the vital interests of the United States of America. We oppose any and all efforts by the federal government to regulate and govern other countries and provinces of the world., or efforts to dethrone their leaders.

Section 12. U.S. SOVEREIGNTY - Global Government - Paragraph 1.

We reaffirm to the world our declaration of permanent independence and sovereignty as a free nation, and our unalterable opposition to the current movement toward a one world government or new world order New World Order. We assert that the casualties of implementing the new world order New World Order will be the loss of our national sovereignty and independence, the permanent surrender of our God-given rights and freedoms, the end of personal sovereignty and agency, and a life of slavery and oppression under tyrants and despots.
