Change ratified to the
Independent American Party Bylaws
The following formally proposed change to
the Independent American Party Bylaws was ratified by the National Committee,
acting as the National Convention, during the National Committee business
meeting held January 17, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah. A related Suspension to
the National Bylaws was allowed to expire.
Summary of ratified change and suspension:
1. Ease eligibility requirements for national officers.

A. Ratified changes to IAP national Bylaws
Note: The following change was ratified and is now in effect:
Section 9 - NATIONAL OFFICERS, Subsection A - Titles, Eligibility,
Accountability. [to ease eligibility requirements for officer positions]
A. Titles, Eligibility, Accountability. The National Officers shall
consist of a Chair, and two or more Vice Chairs, ranked as 1st Vice Chair,
2nd Vice Chair, etc. Each National Officer must be a Member of an
Official or Associate State Party. All actions of the National
Officers are subject to the approval of the Executive Committee and
and/or National Committee.

B. Suspension to IAP national Bylaws
Note: The following suspension to the National Bylaws in August 2003 was
allowed to expire.
Section 9 - NATIONAL OFFICERS, Subsection A - Titles, Eligibility,
Accountability. [to temporarily ease eligibility requirements for officer
positions until Bylaws can be modified]
A. Titles, Eligibility, Accountability. The National Officers shall
consist of a Chair, and two or more Vice Chairs, ranked as 1st Vice Chair,
2nd Vice Chair, etc. Each National Officer must be a Member of an
Official or Associate State Party. All actions of the National
Officers are subject to the approval of the Executive Committee and National
Committee.
