Prayer Alert - April 2007

We normally advocate a 50 / 50 division of time and resources between defensive battles and proactive efforts that restore or enhance Freedom. This time we have more issues to promote than bad bills to fight. It is a refreshing change.

PROACTIVE EFFORTS:

Six bills have been introduced in this Congress that can have a positive effect on our Freedom. We will look at three bills worthy of support and view the rest next time. The bills are

listed below and we encourage you to contact your Representative asking them to cosponsor these bills, and your Senators asking them to sponsor a similar bill in the Senate.

H.CON.RES.22 Expressing the sense of Congress that the President should provide notice of withdrawal of the United States from the North American Free Trade Agreement

(NAFTA). Virgil Goode from the Fifth District in Virginia sponsored this bill which has two cosponsors. Passage of this bill will put tremendous pressure on the President to initiate

withdrawal from NAFTA.

H.CON.RES.40 Expressing the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)

Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada. Virgil Goode from the Fifth District in Virginia also sponsored this bill which has 16

cosponsors. Passage of this bill should put a stop to the NAFTA Superhighway and will slow down progress on the North American Union.

Debate on these two bills will educate and inform our citizens about these threats to our Freedom. Since economic union is a precursor to political union we promote complete

withdrawal from NAFTA and other regional trade organizations.

H.R.938 To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to make changes related to family-sponsored immigrants and to reduce the number of such immigrants. This bill is

sponsored by Phil Gingrey of the eleventh District of Georgia and has 20 cosponsors. This bill will effectively end “Chain Migration”.

DEFENSIVE EFFORTS:

1. Use the “Fax Congress Free” link at NumbersUSA to influence Congress on illegal alien issues. http://www.numbersusa. Make it a habit to check this site daily, things are

moving very rapidly in Washington.

2. Agents Ramos and Compean, the two Border Patrol Agents jailed for shooting a drug smuggler, should be pardoned for the good of the Border Patrol and because their

conviction was a Federal railroad job and a huge miscarraige of justice. For a quick way to contact the President and Congress on this and other issues with pre-written letters,

follow the links below.

Help Block the North American Union by Repealing NAFTA

Stop the NAFTA Super Highway Steppingstone to a North American Union

Help Preserve Your Life of Freedom and Security Under the Constitution -- Oppose Renewal of an "Assault Weapons" Ban

Congress, Please Convince President Bush to Pardon Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean

Mr. President, Please Grant a Full Pardon to Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean

See below a list of bills needed to restore the Separation of Powers and our Republic. There are several new additions to the list, this is a work in progress. If you know of any

others with a good positive effect, please reply.
