During the Constitutional Convention, Benjamin Franklin (at 81 years old)
made his famous plea for prayer:
"In the beginning of the contest with Britain, when we were sensible of
danger, we had daily prayers in this room for divine protection. Our
prayers, sir, were heard; and they were graciously answered. All of us who
were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a
superintending Providence in our favor. To that kind Providence we owe
this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing
our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful
Friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need [His] assistance? I have
lived, sir, a long time; and the longer I live the more convincing proofs
I see of this truth -- that God governs in the affairs of men. ...."

ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT
In
WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people
who dropped what they
were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one
minute to collectively pray for the safety of
England, its people and peace. This had an amazing effect as bombing
stopped.
There is now a group of people organizing the same
thing here in America.
If you would like to participate:
each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time
(8:00 PM Central, 7:00 PM Mountain,
6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying
for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens and for
peace in the world.
If you know anyone who would like to participate,
please pass this along.
Someone said if people
really understood the full extent of the power we
have available through prayer, we
might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.
Thank
You. Please pass this on to anyone who you think will follow thru.

THE PRESIDENTIAL
ELECTION
I
suppose that everyone in the
United States
is aware that we are afflicted with political conventions and a
Presidential election. In Decades past, conventions were to choose the
candidates, not merely to put on a show while the political machine was
lubricated and adjusted. The raw naked power of the Republican and
Democratic Party machines have been much in evidence in events leading up
to the conventions.
From a
standpoint of preserving our Freedom and our way of life, two worse
candidates for the office of the President could hardly be imagined. They
are both the choice of the Beltway Insiders and both candidates are
determined to carry out the will of those that chose them. The party
faithful have rushed breathlessly to the conventions to heap praise on
their candidate, abuse on their opponents, and to see if some political
plums are available for the picking.
The
rational portion of the American population, watching the show put on for
their benefit, wearily strives to determine which candidate really is the
lesser of the two evils and vows never to trust a politician again. From
the response evidenced by the average good hearted American, this may be
the beginning of the destruction of both major political parties and the
rise of a great Independent movement which will lead to the restoration of
our Freedom and our American way of life.
A PRAYER REQUEST
We
celebrate the signing of the Constitution for the United States of America
on September 17th. We invite you to take the weekend of September 13th
and 14th and join with us in a period of thanksgiving and prayer. May
this election see the beginning of the decline of partisan politics and
the rise of the citizen candidate and a strong wave of patriotism and
independent thought. If fasting is a part of your religious observance,
we invite you to join with us in fasting as well. You may wish to give
thanks for:
1. Our
Freedom, the inspired Constitution, and the men that God raised up our
Founding Fathers, who suffered for that Freedom.
2. The
Spirit of Freedom which is sweeping across our land and the people who are
inspired by it to work to preserve our
Liberty.
3.
Those who serve in the Military and the First Responders may they be
blessed and preserved as they protect us from danger and tyranny.
You may
wish to pray that:
1. We
may individually and collectively repent and serve God so that we may
deserve the blessings of Freedom.
2. Our
elected and appointed officials will promote and preserve our Freedom.
3. The
enemies of Freedom may lose their influence, Media and financial support,
organization and cohesion, and all things that are used to destroy our
Freedoms.
POW/MIA
RECOGNITION DAY
The
19th of September is POW/MIA Recognition Day. It is altogether fitting
that our POW's & MIA's be remembered on this day all across the country.
If you plan to have this day observed in your city, take a Proclamation to
your mayor or city council. I have attached a proclamation that will be
used in my city of Mesquite, Nevada. Adapt it to your city and remember
those that have given their Freedom to preserve ours.

The
Independent American Party will hold its nominating convention on
September 13, 2008. This will be a telephone convention so that expenses
for the delegates may be kept low. Contact your Regional Coordinator for

themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then
will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
